All About Sex Talk
Sex Talk is a conceptual art and fashion project, based out of the UK, to raise awareness about sexual education in a way young people can relate to. It aims to tackle topics like abortion, sexual misconduct, unwanted sexual attention and personal experiences while removing the stigma surrounding their discussion. The goal is to discuss sex education and its dark side in an acceptable, normalized and even lighthearted way, making the subject less taboo and more palatable.
We aim to do this, in part, through making cool street and rave wear t shirts that are desirable to the generation, inspired by judgement and stigma around sexual misconduct, sex education and open discussions surrounding them. Our designs will be focussed on reclaiming certain judgements and normalising the conversation of sex. Our products will help construct a current and on trend image of our project, build a community and, in effect, make caring “cool” and sharing popular. The profits from each t-shirt or product drop will go to charities tackling similar issues and existing support services. Subsequently, enhancing and raising awareness for the kind of support readily available, for example: Girls Out Loud, My Body Back, Marie Stopes UK, Brook, Survivors Network, One in Four and The Lantern Project.

Our goal is to not only become a money raising campaign, but to also become a platform for artists to come together and create for a common cause. The project is currently In progress and at the beginning stages of its development but we have already caught the attention of many artists interested in collaborating.
